Money: Living on a Budget

As sung by ABBA, "Money money money must be funny in a rich man's world."
It sometimes really feels that way! Being a student and unemployed sometimes feels like I can't buy things for myself. It can be a little difficult determining the difference between my needs and wants and I wish I didn't need to. Unfortunately, our day and age is driven by those green pieces of paper and we need to learn how to manage it or we will have struggles for the rest of our lives...
Kinda depressing but it doesn't need to! I've collected a few tips that will hopefully help you become money savvy.

  • Clothes, probably the most important in this list. It seems like high fashion and budgets don't go together but in reality that is not the case. Nordstrom Rack has the cutest clothes ranging from trendy to classic pieces and it definitely won't hurt your wallet. An inexpensive way to spice up you wardrobe is to buy a few trendy accessories and Forever 21 has amazing pieces for an affordable price.
  • Skincare! Just because the price tag is high doesn't mean the quality is too. Do your research and you will find great products, well suited for your skin type, at the drugstore for affordable prices. Paula's Choice is a great website to find all types of products including skincare and makeup, they also give honest reviews about what works and what doesn't.
  • So many stores have deals and sales. Sign up for newsletters to get the scoop on when the prices will drop. It is also a good idea to shop online because most stores offer great deals not found in stores.
Living on a budget is not hard and if you have any good tips feel free to share them :)
